The energy sector is critical for Eritrea’s development, and the Government of the State of Eritrea (GoSE) aims to scale up energy infrastructure investments to promote agricultural and industrial transformation. The 2018 draft Eritrea National Energy Policy aims to increase the electrification rate across the country and supply by 20% of electric power demand through renewable energy sources by 2030. In this regard, the GOSE with the Grant support from the African Development Bank (AfDB) is planning to set up Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Project with a capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) at Village- Hadamu, Dekemhare Subzoba, of the Zoba Debub.
